I wrote a blog the other day. That is about a phrase in English, that is, "get your hands dirty."
This phrase is used in two different ways. The first meaning is to be willing to do the hard work of a project yourself, means you do not give the dirty work to others at all instead of you.
The second meaning of it is to do something illegal.
It's quite similar to a Japanese phrase corresponded to it, such as 「汚れ仕事をする」(よごれしごとをする, yogore-shigoto wo suru). This Japanese phrase can be used in the same two meanings as "get your hands dirty." Interesting, it is! I think. Don't you think so?
And I got to reach a statement that all languages are somewhat similar, just as a means of communication, like a tool of transportation, and you shouldn't think too much of the differences among those, which might have been a traditional way in linguistics. This is just an idea of mine.
